BUNDjugend Berlin is the youth arm of BUND Berlin (Friends of the Earth Berlin) in which people up to the age of 27 can participate. Our activities are defined by the spirit, the ideas and the involvement of our volunteers. Our members independently plan campaigns, projects and actions, and select the issues they would like to focus on. They acquire their skills in workshops and trainings supported by the BUNDjugend Berlin office staff. By that, young people take their future into their own hands.
BUNDjugend Berlin works on various environmental issues mainly related to food and agriculture or climate change and consumption.
We believe in a peer-to-peer concept – active young people educating other young people about environmental issues and by that, motivate them to be active. To promote sustainable development we use creative learning techniques whcih go beyond instructor-centered teaching. BUNDjugend Berlin also organizes international youth exchanges. The growing list includes Russia, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus and other European countries as well as Egypt, India and Kenya. Each country is unique and offers an opportunity to focus on different environmental issues: iternational climate conferences, relevant opportunities stemming from the Arab Spring or the development of renewable energy around the world. Learning about how environmental protection is seen and processed abroad and what kind of creative projects and actions young people undertake to protect their nature and environment is of great value to our work at home.
Please contact us if you are interested in getting involved with the BUNDjugend Berlin! Together we can have a big impact!
